Subject: Self Reflection of the Product Review Essay
The purpose of the product review essay was to test out our writing ability to describe and create a reliable piece of information that anyone could read to fully understand the quality of a product.
An area of this essay in which I did very well was my introduction as I was able to introduce both the purpose of the product that I was reviewing and the company from which the product came from. I started off by bringing awareness to the significance that choosing the right belt for you is, because not only will it improve how much weight you can, but also provide safety from injuries. States in my essay, “Looking for the right gym equipment for yourself is an essential part of improving the gym experience, which is why it is significant to find the equipment that works best for you.” After some explaining the functionality of a weightlifting belt, I introduced the company from which my product originates from and gave a brief description of the company, so that anyone reading can identify what company this review is being targeted towards. The strategy that I used to create my introduction was a hook statement. Although the hooking statement may not be interesting for all audiences, it definitely attracts anyone that is well involved in weightlifting and would agree to it.
At the beginning of writing this essay I came across some errors that I needed to work on, which was specifying more details about the product. I wrote my essay explaining the functionalities of a weightlifting belt and the qualities to look out for, however I failed to specify where my product originated from and my personal experiences with it. Stated in my essay, “Weightlifting belts serve the purpose of creating a strong support for your core and lower back when performing heavy weight workouts or any other workout that may involve stress on the lower back.” Before implementing more information about my product, I received some feedback claiming that my essay felt more like an essay about back braces rather than weightlifting belts. A strategy I will use to avoid this error in the future is careful analysis of the criterias required by the essay so that I can better understand what I must be including in my writing.
Overall, my product review essay reflected some of my strengths, but also brought new errors to my attention that I will make sure to look out for in future assignments. I will improve at structuring my essays more properly, so that every detail I must include is present for anyone reading to understand my topic.

Subject: Self Reflection of the Lab Report Analysis Essay
The purpose of the lab report analysis essay was to identify the effective and flawed aspects of different lab reports based on the proper structure for an effective lab report.
An area of this essay in which I did very well was summarizing each one of the lab reports that I was analyzing. All three of the reports focused on a common topic, so that same idea carried out to each of the summaries, which made it easier to understand each report. In order to provide a full but brief description of each of the reports I made sure to only include significant information such as the purpose of the lab, the methods performed to conduct the lab, the results and lastly whether or not the findings correlated with the hypotheses. Along with creating a brief and detailed summary of the reports, the structure in which I analyzed each lab report was also significant to creating an informative and clear analysis essay. My strategy was to break up the three lab reports into their own corresponding paragraphs. I used topic sentences that would mark the beginning of the next report analysis, so that anyone reading does not mix any of the information from the previous report with the one they are currently reading up on. Even though the reports are broken into different paragraphs, they are still connected through comparisons and differences that were found along their structures.
A frequent error that I continued to get back to was adding detail into my analysis. Each report had their own structure, no matter how similar or different to the next. When going through the structure of each lab report I found myself summarizing the report more than I was analyzing it in detail. When stating and adding a small summary of an essay’s methodology, I would fail to add justification for my claims of whether or not that methodology section was effective or not. I received several pieces of feedback informing me that even though I was clearly summarizing the reports for the readers, I lacked the main purpose of the analysis essay. My strategy to avoid these errors in the future is to create more organized outlines that will allow me to break down each source from summary, claim, and to justification/analysis.
Overall, my lab report analysis essay demonstrated some strengths when it came to providing summaries of each one of the reports in order to provide readers with a clear understanding of the reports. However, even through edits and analysis of my own essay, I may still need some more practice at analyzing my sources and appropriately justifying my claims.

Subject: Self Reflection Memo of the Technical Description Essay
The purpose of the technical description essay was to provide a detailed piece of information centered around a semi complex product and break down each aspect of the product from outer to inner parts and features.
An area of this essay in which I believe did very well was my introduction as we were expected to provide information on the history of our item and how it has developed since then. The item my essay was centered around was a coffee maker, so I provided information on the very first concepts of coffee making that are best connected to the same process of a regular modern coffee maker. Although the history of coffee makers is quite widespread, I did my best to focus on any piece of history that mentioned coffee makers involving filters and a drip coffee style. I didn’t think that providing information about the history of every type of coffee maker would have been convenient and it would have turned out looking like a history of the coffee maker essay. The strategy I used to create my introduction was to implement my information in chronological order, so that anyone can understand the actual pace in which the coffee maker made its way into its modern day design.
An issue that I came across was being unable to find the necessary or sufficient information regarding the structure of my item. While trying to describe in detail the different parts that make up the structure of my coffee maker, I was unable to find enough specifications about the coffee maker, this means specific measurements or materials used to create it. However, I was able to get over this issue through more extensive research. It turns out that basic specifications can be found on the details section of any online shopping website that had my specific coffee maker listed.
Overall, my technical description essay demonstrated some of my strengths, but it turns out I still have a lot of work to do when it comes to performing more efficient research. I will improve my research skills by expanding the sources that I utilized to gather my information, so that I can increase my chances of finding the exact information that I am looking for.
